SELLER'S HELP, INFO & FAQ'sThe selling process is called "Consignment" which basically means we sell goods on your behalf and share the proceeds. It is very straight forward but some can find anything to do with online selling quite daunting. We have tried to make the process as simple as possible for the benefit of the seller and the buyer and hopefully you can find the answer to your question here - if not please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to advise you.
How Does Consignment Work? Simply put, we sell your quality clothing for you and pay you 50% of the final selling price. All you have to do is to send us your items and sit back and wait for the cash to start rolling in! Please remember that your items remain your property at all times.
Back to top ^ What is the Best Way to send my Items? Obviously you want to give your items the best chance to arrive in premium condition therefore careful packing with tissue is recommended. If your item is a little creased when it arrives we will touch it up with a steamer to ensure that it's at it's best for photography. We also recommend that you send your items by recorded delivery to ensure that they are traceable should they go astray. Back to top ^ How is the Selling Price determined?
Back to top ^ How Do I Get Paid? The buyer has seven working days to decide whether to keep or return the item - see our Returns Policy. On completion of this period your funds due can either be paid directly into your bank account or, if you prefer, by posted cheque. Back to top ^ What If My Items Don't Sell? This of course can happen and if your item doesn't sell we will advise you accordingly by email once the agreed consignment period has passed. You can then choose to have the item returned to you and we will gladly send it back on receipt of the covering postage. Or You can choose to donate the item to charity. We donate all unsold and unwanted items to the Queen Anne Hospice. Back to top ^ Do You Accept All Clothing And Accessories For Sale? No. In fact we are very selective and even though you have submitted an item for sale we may still not chose to put it on the website because either it doesn't fall within our well defined criteria or we are over supplied with that particular type of product or it's out of season. We work to a straightforward assessment criteria that covers the following: CONDITION We only accept items in the following condition but if you are in any doubt please contact us. BRAND NEW WITH ORIGINAL STORE TAGS & PACKAGING This means the item is exactly that - it's new with the original store tags and price tickets and packaging (where applicable) still in place. BRAND NEW WITHOUT ORIGINAL STORE TAGS & PACKAGING This item was a recent purchase, has never been worn but it has its store price tickets, tags and packaging removed. NEW AND UNUSED An item up to two years old that hasn't been worn. NEARLY NEW An item that that has been worn only once or twice and is still in impeccable condition. GENTLY WORN These are items that have been worn a few times and so cannot be classified as 'Nearly New' - and may show a very small amount of wear. VINTAGE Classic items from a bygone era that are still relevant and in demand in today's market. The garment must be recently cleaned and in a good state of repair. We are interested in classic clothes and accessories from famous designer labels such as Ossie Clark, Vivienne Westwood. Mary Quant, Halston etc from bygone eras. We also accept Retro clothing from famous premium labels such as Biba. If you have an item you are not sure about please call us on 02089745653 or contact us by email at info@heroesandroses.co.uk. Please note that we do not accept fakes or copies! Please note that as part of the terms and conditions for acting as your seller we require that all items are recently DRY CLEANED (please leave the dry-cleaning tags on the garment) prior to sending the garment to us. This will eliminate household odours present in everyone's wardrobe and makes for a hassle free and pleasant buying and selling process. Any garments received without a dry-cleaning tag will be have to be dry-cleaned by us. We will deduct the cost from your sales settlement. If you haven't got time to organise this and would prefer us to arrange to have your garments dry-cleaned for you we would be happy to do that at a very competitive rate. Please try to let us know in advance so that we can process your items speedily. We aim to send the buyer your garment in pristine condition, well packaged and with all the supporting documentation. We want your buyer to be overjoyed with their purchase so that they come back for more. Before you send your items please carefully check for rips, holes, stains, missing buttons or hardware, excessive signs of wear, pilling and alterations or flaws that will affect its saleability.
